Welcome to Steamboat Valhalla !!!
You wake to the smell of fresh coffee and breakfast on the skillet…it only
takes a moment to remember where you are. Having just flown in the night
before, you think how nice it is to have jet service so close to Heaven –
like the Flight of the Valkries. You feel the warm wooden floors beneath
your feet as you instinctively follow the luring aroma of Espresso and Irish
Cream.
The unobstructed, picture window view of Mt. Werner tells you it’s been
snowing; the white shapeless trees whisper feet, not inches, of powder.
Sipping your toddy, the warmth of the fire in the Great Room conjures up
that perfect ski vacation with your closest friends and family. You pull
your terry-cloth robe a little tighter around you as you sit back on the
leather couch in front of the floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace and ponder
the powder caches you know you’ll surely find in Steamboat’s famous glades.
A quick check of your email on the high-speed digital Internet connection
confirms that the wheels aren’t falling off back at the office – you relax
and look forward to a great day on the mountain… Where will the powder be..?
From here, Tomahawk looks fresh… Perhaps The Chutes? Christmas Tree Bowl?
Sure, why not hit them all – you can’t miss on Powder Day. As you dreamily
stare at the white covered mountain-top, the Steamboat Shuttle driver gives
you a friendly wave as he comes to a stop a mere 30 yards from the front
door for the first stop on the loop. Save the free shuttle ride for the way
home, you think, it’s too close and too nice a day not to walk.
Turning on the 42” Plasma TV to find out the latest storm totals, you hear
the kids downstairs playing the latest game on PlayStation-2… seemingly
oblivious to this perfect moment – it’s just as well. You smile knowing that
everything’s been thought of… from the boot warmers to the pre-stocked*
refrigerator… the difference is in the details.
Congratulations… You just found your perfect vacation and it starts with
Steamboat Valhalla. After years of skiing, snowboarding, fishing, golfing,
hunting, hiking, and biking all over the United States, we have finally been
able to take our collective knowledge and experience and create a little
slice of Nordic Heaven right here on earth. You already know how nice
Steamboat is; otherwise you wouldn’t be visiting our site. Here’s the
UltraLuxe Difference.
This brand new (completed August 2003), immaculate, distinctly furnished,
custom 3 Level, 4 Bedroom (2 Master Suites with Steam Showers) and 4.5 Bath

TownHome is now available for that perfect multi-family/multi-couple
vacation retreat. From the Gourmet Kitchen (12’ granite breakfast bar) with
Espresso Machine and pre-stocked refrigerator* to the boot heater/dryer for
4 sets of boots to the custom Aspen log beds and beautiful rustic mountain
decor, we have thought of all the details.

we will even pre-stock* your refrigerator/freezer with as much or as little

The HiStory…
Steam•boat (st m b t ) n . Colorado Legend
The most incredible year-round destination in the Rocky Mountains --
Commonly associated with deep, trademarked “Champagne Powder” only found in
Northern Colorado.
Val•hal•la (v l-h l , väl-hä l ) also Wal•hal•la (w l-h l , v l-, wäl-hä l ,
väl-)
n. Mythology
The hall in which Odin received the souls of slain heroes – (You know…
skiers/hikers/snowmobilers/fishermen/hunters/insert heroic things you do
here )
Steamboat Valhalla was finished in August of 2003 and was constructed by a
couple of former Norwegian Olympic Ski Team members – they also happen to be
very cool brothers and excellent homebuilders now living in Steamboat. The
home exudes old-world craftsmanship and captures the essence of wood-beam,
alpine luxury. In short, the perfect respite for modern day heroes who need
to seriously relax and have a great time.
Every floor has radiant floor heating; keeping the entire house warm and
cozy from the floor up. Plush Chadsworth and Haig kimono-style spa robes and
complimentary slippers for each guest add that ultra-comfortable touch.
Also, Steamboat Valhalla has a wireless LAN that will allow you to access
the Internet throughout the house without the need for cables. If you would
like to use this complimentary service, we are more than happy to assist you
in getting configured. If you are planning on hooking into the wireless LAN
with your laptop or portable device, please let us know upon confirming the
reservation so that we can do as much pre-configuring as possible. Realizing
today’s executives require no hassle, high-speed Internet access; we want
this to be the perfect get away.
The Ground Level
On the lower level, you will find a 2-car garage (one space accommodating a
Suburban) with ski and snowboard racks to store your gear. The entry way has
cubbyholes, slate floors, hooks for jackets, and a bench for taking off
boots and gear. Heading down the hall towards the bedrooms, the washer and
dryer (quality detergent and fabric softening sheets provided), ironing
board and iron (starch provided), and 4-pair boot warmer/dryer can be found
on the right. The 2 bedrooms, each carpeted with their own fully tiled
private bath, are both furnished with comfort and quality in mind.
One room has a queen-size Aspen log bed. The other room has a trundle/day
bed that can be made into a queen or split into two twins. This last room,
which makes for a great kids’ room, has a 27” TV with VCR/DVD/CD player with
a wide selection of movies including the latest Disney titles, as well as a
PlayStation-2 with the newest games. It also serves as an office space as
there is an Internet connected computer in a corner desk. Additionally,
there are your favorite board/bored games (Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit,
Yahtzee, Twister, etc.) for those “snowed-in/my legs feel like Jell-O/I
can’t move” days.
The Main Level
Hand selected British Columbian red oak wood floors are found throughout the
main level. This is the main “living area” where you will find the fully
stocked Gourmet Kitchen (spices, herbs, plates, bowls, cookware, silverware,
and cooking basics – flour, sugar, olive oil, etc.), the antler chandeliered
Dining Room, super comfy Great Room, outside deck, and one of Steamboat
Valhalla’s Master Suites. With a beautiful view of the southern Yampa Valley
and the 12-person hot tub (exclusive to our guests and 5 neighbors), the
Gourmet Kitchen has an oversized over/under refrigerator/freezer, knife and
chopping block, a full-size pantry, an extra deep and large double sink, and
an industrial dishwasher. The 12’ granite breakfast bar and full wrap around
counter top provide an abundance of space for the most industrious of chefs.
The stainless steel stove and oven along with microwave make any dish a
possibility. Everything you need for fresh cappuccinos, espressos, and
lattes (except for cream) is furnished with the easiest to use espresso
machine we’ve ever seen.
The open floor plan of the kitchen, dining room, and Great Room naturally
lends to keeping everything and everyone central (there’s even a half-bath
conveniently located right off the kitchen). It provides plenty of room for
comfortably visiting with friends and family without cramping anyone’s
style. Whether it’s the big sports event, the weather, or your favorite
movie… there is a 42” Plasma TV with premium cable, DVD/CD/VCR, and Bose
surround sound for your viewing pleasure.
Also, you will find a fantastic floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, unique
antique pieces, stunning art and photography, and locally harvested (45
miles south of Steamboat Valhalla on the Pinto Valley Ranch outside of
Kremmling, 10/2003) Trophy Elk and Mule Deer racks giving Steamboat Valhalla
that toasty, eclectic, almost “Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe” quality. Over-sized
leather couches, a barn door coffee table, and other distinctively rustic
furniture further complement the collection.
With the second floor vantage, you really appreciate the fantastic,
unobstructed wall-to-wall and floor to 14’ ceiling views of 10,384’ Sunshine
Peak, the Sunshine Lift line, and Tomahawk ski run. Up and to the left you
can see the Gondola station up at Thunderhead Lodge (9,080’). The deck just
outside shares the same view and has a gourmet gas grill, full Brookestone
Grilling Kit (Spatula, Tongs, Knife, Fork, Sauce Brush, Skewers, etc.) for
the professional Bar-B-Quer, and the Steamboat Valhalla branding iron for
that perfect finishing touch on “Steak Night” at the SV.
Also, one of the Master Suites is on this floor… As you walk in, you are
greeted with gorgeous views of the southern Yampa Valley, a custom
king-size, storybook Aspen log bed with a warm and fluffy feather down
comforter and Ultraluxe soft pillows. The handcrafted Aspen log beds in
Steamboat Valhalla were custom built by Reggie Treese, a most excellent
craftsman, world class fly-fishing guide, and all around great guy in
Thermopolis, Wyoming. The bath is exquisitely finished in travertine
including the oversize steam shower with sit down bench, a bathtub for those
Calgon moments, and his and her sinks and closets. Of course, a DVD/CD/VCR
player and 30” TV make this a perfect spot to “get away” for a respite.
The third floor Master Suite, “The Valkries’ Nest”, also has a fully tiled
bathroom and steam shower. Identically accoutered as the other Master, this
is the largest bedroom in Steamboat Valhalla and includes a 30” TV with
DVD/VCR/CD, a large sitting area, 2 story separation from the kids, and a
rustic, wrought iron king-size bed complete with a feather down comforter
and Utraluxe soft pillows… depending on your situation; a most enviable and
romantic perch.
